Job Description

Overview

  • Lead fund accounting operations for private funds and related entities in a hybrid work environment.
  • Manage quarterly closes, fund audits, and collaborate with investment and operations teams.
  • Drive process improvements and ensure compliance with SEC custody rules and legal documents.
  • Produce capital statements, holdings reports, and financial statements for investors.
  • Collaborate on fund launches, investments, and liquidations while managing complex fund structures.
  • Calculate management fees, incentive fees, carried interest, and expense reimbursements accurately.
  • Represent accounting at private fund board meetings and foster team collaboration.
  • Enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency through analytical and technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee end-to-end accounting and financial reporting for private funds and related entities.
  • Manage quarterly financial closes and lead fund audits with precision.
  • Collaborate with investment and operations teams to ensure seamless processes.
  • Ensure compliance with SEC custody rules and legal documents.
  • Prepare and distribute capital statements, holdings reports, and financial statements.
  • Calculate fees including management fees, incentive fees, and carried interest.
  • Participate in fund board meetings and represent accounting perspectives.
  • Drive continuous improvements in reporting and operational processes.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of fund accounting experience; 10 years preferred.
  • Progress towards CPA certification highly desirable.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and spreadsheet skills essential.
  • Expertise in private funds, hedge funds, or similar investment accounting.
  • Authorization to work in the US without visa sponsorship required.
  • Proven ability to manage complex fund structures and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with fee calculations and financial reporting for investment entities.
