Job Description

Overview

  • Lead payroll operations for a construction-focused organization, ensuring compliance with labor laws and union agreements.
  • Manage payroll for approximately 500 employees using industry-specific software solutions.
  • Supervise a team of 3-4 payroll staff, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
  • Administer employee benefits, including medical coverage, 401K, and paid time off.
  • Ensure accurate payroll processing and reporting, adhering to tax regulations and company policies.
  • Optimize timekeeping systems for efficient tracking of employee hours and attendance.
  • Support the transition from Sage Timberline to CMiC Construction Software.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to address payroll-related inquiries and issues effectively.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations specific to the construction industry.
  • Administer employee benefits and handle related inquiries efficiently.
  • Utilize payroll software to process payroll accurately and efficiently.
  • Generate and analyze payroll reports to support decision-making processes.
  • Conduct audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Lead and manage the payroll team, ensuring effective performance and development.
  • Stay updated on tax regulations to ensure compliance and reporting accuracy.
  • Support the transition to CMiC Construction Software for payroll operations.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts degree in a relevant field is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience, preferably in construction and union environments.
  • Proficiency in CMiC Construction Software or Sage Timberline is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Exceptional reporting, auditing, and data analysis skills.
  • Experience in managing and leading a payroll team effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work on-site Monday through Friday with set hours.
