Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Conduct pre-operative assessments and prepare patients for surgery.
- Administer medications and monitor patient vitals during procedures.
- Collaborate with surgeons and anesthesiologists to ensure procedural success.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using EMR systems.
- Educate patients and families on post-operative care and recovery.
- Prepare and maintain the operating room for various surgical specialties.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and ensure a sterile environment.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to care planning.
Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Associate of Science (AS) degree in Nursing or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Operating Room setting.
- Preferred 3 years of experience in surgical or critical care nursing.
- Proficiency in venipuncture, IV administration, and vital signs monitoring.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
