Job Description

Overview

  • Contribute to a dynamic accounting team within a leading organization, focusing on tasks such as journal entries, financial analysis, and compliance with US GAAP.
  • Engage in diverse accounting areas including fixed assets, foreign exchange, taxes, leases, impairments, and purchase price allocation.
  • Collaborate on quarter-end close processes, including 10-K and 10-Q disclosures, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Develop and implement best-in-class processes to modernize and automate the accounting environment.
  • Prepare variance analysis and detailed commentary for income statement and balance sheet accounts.
  • Analyze intercompany and related-party transactions, performing reconciliations and supporting schedules for audits.
  • Expand skillsets through exposure to high-level projects and collaboration with senior team members.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Analyze and prepare/review journal entries for transactions such as dispositions, lease amendments, and acquisitions.
  • Assist in quarter-end close processes, including consolidation and preparation of disclosures.
  • Perform financial analyses and peer comparisons to identify appropriate disclosures.
  • Record recurring journal entries for corporate processes and ensure accuracy.
  • Identify and develop processes to modernize and automate accounting operations.
  • Prepare variance analysis and commentary for financial accounts.
  • Assist with ad hoc account analyses and reporting requests from the accounting group.
  • Respond to audit inquiries and prepare supporting schedules for auditors.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Master’s degree and/or CPA preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience in a dynamic accounting environment, preferably in a public company.
  • Proficient in analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment and work effectively in a team setting.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of JDE, Hyperion suite, or Workiva is a plus.
