Overview
- Serve as the first point of contact for patient care, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment.
- Perform both administrative and clinical duties to support efficient healthcare operations.
- Collaborate closely with physicians and advanced practice providers to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Administer medications and vaccines, perform phlebotomy, and collect specimens as required.
- Maintain examination rooms and sterilize equipment to ensure compliance with health standards.
- Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical records system.
- Work under minimal supervision while adhering to defined policies and procedures.
- Provide direct patient care within the scope of active certifications and training.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Discuss patient symptoms and obtain vital signs during initial assessments.
- Perform diagnostic screening tests and assist in clinical procedures.
- Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient records.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including tuberculosis screening requirements.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient care and operational efficiency.
- Provide bilingual support in English and Spanish, if applicable, to enhance communication.
- Contribute to value-based care initiatives, including knowledge of HEDIS and CPT/ICD coding.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized clinical environment.
Job Requirements
- Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree or equivalent educational background.
- Successful completion of a Medical Assistant training program or certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical assistant role; 5 years preferred.
- CPR certification and adherence to tuberculosis screening protocols.
- Proficiency in medication and vaccine administration, phlebotomy, and diagnostic testing.
- Knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS patient experience standards.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly desirable.
- Ability to work on-site Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
