Job Description

Overview

  • Join a dynamic asset management firm as an Assistant Controller, contributing to financial operations and fund management.
  • Collaborate with investment, technology, and operations teams to ensure seamless accounting processes.
  • Handle cash management, accounts payable, and custodial reconciliations for the management company.
  • Assist in monthly accounting close and operational maintenance of investment funds.
  • Engage in capital calls, distributions, and transactional payments for fund-related expenses.
  • Contribute to the preparation of NAV reporting and ad-hoc financial reports.
  • Work in a hybrid environment, fostering collaboration and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage accounts payable, receivables, invoices, wires, and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare and process investment and expense payments for funds.
  • Collaborate with external accounting firms, fund administrators, and custodians.
  • Assist in preparation of capital calls, distribution notices, and waterfall calculations.
  • Perform K-1 and tax return reviews, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Prepare QuickBooks entries and custodial reconciliations.
  • Provide ad-hoc financial reports and support strategic initiatives.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years accounting experience in the financial services industry.
  • Proficiency in Excel and QuickBooks, with a strong understanding of waterfall calculations.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Experience with NAV reporting and tax return preparation preferred.
  • Knowledge of 1099 and 1099LS preparation processes.
