Job Description

Overview

  • Lead architectural design efforts for healthcare projects, ensuring innovative and human-centric solutions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive design and construction documentation.
  • Apply technical expertise in detailing, building materials, and construction technologies.
  • Contribute to the development of healing environments, enhancing patient care through evidence-based design.
  • Evaluate site conditions and perform surveys to inform design decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes and regulations throughout all project phases.
  • Support project timelines and budgets through efficient technical solutions.
  • Engage in programming, material research, and system integration for optimal project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop technical designs and architectural drawings to meet quality and budgetary standards.
  • Perform programming, code research, and material selection for project development.
  • Conduct site surveys and evaluate conditions to inform design solutions.
  • Review project products, services, and shop drawings for accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinate permit responses and revisions with engineers and consultants.
  • Collaborate with contractors and sub-consultants to address constructability issues.
  • Ensure alignment of design solutions with project context, budget, and aesthetic requirements.
  • Integrate MEP and structural systems into architectural designs effectively.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Architecture (B.Arch.) or equivalent post-secondary education.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in architectural project work.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and other architectural design software.
  • Familiarity with MEP and structural systems and building codes.
  • Registered with a professional architectural association is preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare projects is an asset.
  • Strong ability to analyze design intent and produce effective technical solutions.
  • Excellent collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
