Overview

  • Manage day-to-day property accounting operations for Class A commercial properties, ensuring compliance and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Oversee straight-line depreciation calculations and ensure proper application in property financials.
  • Handle escalations and CAM reconciliations with precision and attention to detail.
  • Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering growth and collaboration.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational goals and financial strategies.
  • Maintain adherence to industry standards and regulations in all accounting practices.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Work on-site five days a week with limited remote work opportunities.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare and review financial statements for Class A commercial properties, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Conduct straight-line depreciation calculations and analyze financial impacts.
  • Manage escalations and CAM reconciliations, providing detailed reports to stakeholders.
  • Supervise and guide a team of accountants, ensuring high performance and professional development.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with property management teams to align financial operations with business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards in all accounting activities.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial performance and reporting accuracy.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in property accounting, with 12 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in straight-line depreciation calculations and CAM reconciliations.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing accounting teams effectively.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and industry regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex accounting issues.
  • Ability to work on-site five days a week with limited remote work flexibility.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders and present financial insights.
