Job Description

Overview

  • Serve as a vital member of the healthcare team, ensuring exceptional patient care and operational efficiency.
  • Engage in both administrative and clinical tasks to support patient-centered healthcare delivery.
  • Collaborate with physicians and advanced practice providers to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and perform diagnostic tests in compliance with healthcare standards.
  • Maintain examination rooms and sterilize equipment to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
  • Document patient information accurately using electronic medical records systems.
  • Participate in semi-routine assignments requiring independent discretion and policy interpretation.
  • Contribute to a welcoming and professional environment for patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Obtain patient vital signs and discuss symptoms to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Administer medications and vaccines, adhering to established medical protocols.
  • Perform phlebotomy and collect specimens for diagnostic screening tests.
  • Prepare and maintain examination rooms to facilitate efficient patient care delivery.
  • Sterilize and clean medical equipment, ensuring a safe clinical environment.
  • Accurately document patient information in electronic medical records systems.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care coordination.
  • Participate in the organization's Tuberculosis screening program as part of patient-facing duties.

Job Requirements

  • Completion of a Medical Assistant training program or certification as a Registered Medical Assistant.
  • Associate of Arts degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • CPR certification is mandatory for patient-facing roles.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience required; 2 years preferred for enhanced proficiency.
  • Experience in medication/vaccine administration and phlebotomy is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Value-Based Care, including HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and patient experience metrics.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is advantageous; proficiency exam required.
  • Ability to work on-site Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
