Job Description

Overview

  • Contribute to a dynamic accounting team within the energy sector, ensuring accurate revenue recording and compliance.
  • Analyze production data and financial metrics to optimize reporting and decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address operational challenges and enhance financial accuracy.
  • Engage in regulatory reporting and compliance, ensuring adherence to state and federal guidelines.
  • Support royalty disbursement processes by maintaining and updating revenue guidelines.
  • Develop expertise in handling revenue adjustments for prior periods and reconciliations.
  • Participate in invoice processing for gas transactions, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
  • Generate comprehensive financial and production reports for stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare monthly accruals for various energy products, collaborating with marketing teams.
  • Ensure accurate setup and maintenance of wells in compliance with revenue guidelines.
  • Record and post revenues and volumes for energy products using production data.
  • Invoice counterparties for sales and process payments for purchases.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and balance sheet items monthly.
  • File regulatory reports, including VGOB and federal/state withholding documents.
  • Process adjustments for prior period volume, price, cost, and ownership changes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to resolve operational and financial issues.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably within the energy sector.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SAP or similar ERP systems, and QRA software.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to manage cross-functional projects and generate accurate reports.
  • Knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements and compliance standards.
  • Office-based position requiring collaboration and problem-solving abilities.
