Overview
- Serve as a clinical coach for new Hospice and Palliative Care staff, providing mentorship during orientation and assessing field competencies.
- Act as a resource and mentor for new staff, ensuring smooth clinical orientation and training processes.

Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Develop and deliver clinical training programs for new Hospice and Palliative Care staff, ensuring high-quality patient care.
- Evaluate staff competencies through field assessments and provide constructive feedback to enhance performance.
- Mentor and precept new staff, fostering professional growth and confidence in clinical practices.
- Collaborate with management to identify training needs and develop tailored educational solutions.
- Maintain compliance with organizational policies and standards in all training activities.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to align training objectives with organizational goals.
- Support staff in obtaining certifications and advancing their professional qualifications.
- Utilize evidence-based practices to enhance training effectiveness and staff competency.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s in Education, Nursing, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in Hospice and Palliative Care; 6 years preferred.
- Current licensure and registration as a Registered Nurse in New York State.
- CHPN certification preferred; willingness to obtain within the first year of employment.
- Proven experience as a preceptor, mentor, or educator in clinical settings.
- Strong background in ventilator care, transplant, or dialysis is advantageous.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively mentor and train staff.
- Ability to travel occasionally to other office locations for training purposes.
