Occupational Therapist

Overview

• Provide occupational therapy services to restore function, improve mobility, and enhance patient health.
• Perform evaluations, re-evaluations, and OASIS assessments to determine therapy needs.
• Develop and update individualized plans of care based on patient progress and goals.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Provide age-appropriate care based on principles of growth and development.
• Utilize evidence-based guidelines and regulatory standards in practice.
• Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling and adapt to various patient care settings.
• Participate in team meetings and case conferences to address patient needs.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Perform comprehensive evaluations and determine occupational therapy diagnoses.
• Develop and implement therapy procedures to achieve patient goals.
• Complete timely reassessments and update care plans accordingly.
• Provide therapeutic treatments and evaluate equipment needs.
• Prepare clinical and progress notes to document interventions and outcomes.
• Coordinate with Occupational Therapy Assistants and Home Health Aides.
• Participate in training and mentoring team members and students.
• Ensure effective execution of treatment plans to meet discharge criteria.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy required.
• Valid Occupational Therapy license from Virginia Department of Health Professions.
• CPR/BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum of 1 year of occupational therapy experience preferred.
• Ability to drive personal vehicle for business purposes as needed.
• Strong knowledge of evidence-based guidelines and regulatory standards.
• Proficiency in developing and executing therapy plans effectively.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with interdisciplinary teams.
