Overview

  • Lead emergency services operations at a healthcare organization, ensuring exceptional patient care and adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Oversee emergency department functions, including staffing, budget management, and strategic planning for service enhancements.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence in patient-centered care delivery.
  • Develop and implement policies to improve patient safety and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with administrative teams and physicians to expand service offerings and drive differentiation in emergency care.
  • Ensure effective labor management, including staffing, scheduling, and productivity optimization.
  • Provide leadership in enhancing the patient experience and achieving optimal outcomes through strategic initiatives.
  • Support employee engagement and development through training, coaching, and performance feedback.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Cultivate a superior clinical identity by implementing evidence-based practices to advance patient safety and quality outcomes.
  • Ensure adherence to standards of care and regulatory compliance across emergency services.
  • Develop care coordination policies to improve quality, safety, and efficiency in patient care.
  • Monitor department budget performance and implement actions to address performance gaps.
  • Direct nursing practice and unit operations, ensuring patient and family needs are met effectively.
  • Leverage feedback mechanisms to benchmark performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to enhance patient experience and customer service.
  • Identify opportunities for service expansion and new product lines to promote growth.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of acute care emergency department leadership experience in a Level 1 or 2 Trauma facility.
  • Proven ability to inspire and lead teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
  • Experience in budget management, strategic planning, and operational efficiency improvement.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory standards and evidence-based practices in emergency care.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills to engage and develop staff effectively.
  • Ability to manage high-acuity patient care environments and drive quality outcomes.
  • Preferred certifications in emergency nursing or trauma care management.
