Overview

  • Lead the Medical Surgical Unit, ensuring high-quality patient care and operational excellence.
  • Develop and enforce policies, procedures, and quality initiatives within the unit.
  • Mentor and manage staff, fostering a collaborative and professional environment.
  • Prepare and maintain accreditation standards and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Oversee the unit's budget, productivity, and resource allocation effectively.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Utilize leadership skills to address challenges and implement innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Direct all aspects of the Medical Surgical Unit, including Telemetry operations.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance and quality standards.
  • Mentor and manage staff, promoting professional growth and teamwork.
  • Prepare and maintain accreditation standards and accountability measures.
  • Manage the unit's budget, productivity, and resource allocation effectively.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to enhance patient care and satisfaction.
  • Facilitate relationships with providers to improve operational efficiency.
  • Lead initiatives focused on quality improvement and patient safety.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; advanced degrees such as MSN or MBA preferred.
  • Current New Mexico RN license or eligibility required.
  • Seven years of healthcare experience, including three years in leadership roles.
  • Experience in a for-profit hospital setting strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to build teams and focus on quality initiatives.
  • Strong human relations and interpersonal skills essential.
  • Certifications in BLS and ACLS required.
  • Experience in program development, budgeting, and productivity management.
