Job Description

Overview

  • Lead a dynamic team in a fast-paced emergency department environment, ensuring high-quality patient care and operational excellence.
  • Oversee a 39-bed emergency department serving diverse patient populations across all age groups.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including case managers, pharmacists, and advanced practice providers.
  • Drive improvements in patient outcomes, safety, and departmental efficiency through innovative strategies.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to nursing staff, fostering professional growth and development.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies to maintain accreditation and quality care.
  • Participate in organizational policy formulation and decision-making processes to enhance service delivery.
  • Contribute to budget planning and resource allocation to support departmental goals effectively.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Supervise nursing and ancillary staff to ensure efficient and effective patient care delivery.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures aligned with organizational goals and standards.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient care plans to ensure adherence to established guidelines and standards.
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary collaboration to optimize patient outcomes and enhance care quality.
  • Facilitate staff participation in shared governance and decision-making processes.
  • Manage staffing and scheduling to ensure adequate coverage and efficient resource utilization.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to promote staff development.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards to maintain a secure work environment.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
  • Current RN license in good standing in the state of Michigan.
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical and supervisory nursing experience; 5 years preferred.
  • BLS certification required; additional certifications may be preferred.
  • Proficiency in computer systems for record-keeping and data analysis.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage physical demands, including standing, walking, and assisting patients.
  • Experience in budget planning and resource allocation for departmental operations.
