Overview
- Lead a dynamic team in a fast-paced emergency department environment, ensuring high-quality patient care and operational excellence.
- Oversee a 39-bed emergency department serving diverse patient populations across all age groups.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including case managers, pharmacists, and advanced practice providers.
- Drive improvements in patient outcomes, safety, and departmental efficiency through innovative strategies.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to nursing staff, fostering professional growth and development.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies to maintain accreditation and quality care.
- Participate in organizational policy formulation and decision-making processes to enhance service delivery.
- Contribute to budget planning and resource allocation to support departmental goals effectively.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Supervise nursing and ancillary staff to ensure efficient and effective patient care delivery.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures aligned with organizational goals and standards.
- Monitor and evaluate patient care plans to ensure adherence to established guidelines and standards.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary collaboration to optimize patient outcomes and enhance care quality.
- Facilitate staff participation in shared governance and decision-making processes.
- Manage staffing and scheduling to ensure adequate coverage and efficient resource utilization.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to promote staff development.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards to maintain a secure work environment.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
- Current RN license in good standing in the state of Michigan.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical and supervisory nursing experience; 5 years preferred.
- BLS certification required; additional certifications may be preferred.
- Proficiency in computer systems for record-keeping and data analysis.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to manage physical demands, including standing, walking, and assisting patients.
- Experience in budget planning and resource allocation for departmental operations.
