Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Prepare and process payroll for union and hourly employees, ensuring timely completion.
- Maintain accurate employee data within payroll and HR systems.
- Assist with reconciling payroll reports and preparing financial journals.
- Address payroll-related inquiries from employees regarding pay and deductions.
- Support year-end payroll tasks and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with team members to improve payroll processes and efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to university policies and relevant legislation in payroll operations.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree required, preferably in Finance or related field.
- Minimum of 1 year payroll experience; 3 years preferred.
- Basic understanding of payroll processes, tax regulations, and accounts payable principles.
- Proficiency in Excel and financial systems; training provided for Banner Administrative System.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to work on-site, adhering to a 9-to-5 schedule with an hour lunch.
