Overview
- Support financial operations in a dynamic architecture and engineering firm, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in accounting processes.
- Perform general accounting duties, including billing, invoicing, and managing accounts payable and receivable.
- Collaborate with project managers and staff to finalize timesheets and conduct billing reviews.
- Reconcile transactional and resource management data for accurate reporting and billing.
- Assist in resolving discrepancies in financial records and reports to ensure compliance.
- Contribute to project contract management, including amendments and change orders.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement efficient workflows.
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting to support decision-making.
- Ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in all operations.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Ensure timely and accurate billing of clients and manage accounts receivable effectively.
- Lead collection efforts for past-due accounts through communication and coordination with clients.
- Collaborate with project managers to conduct monthly billing reviews and finalize timesheets.
- Reconcile financial data to facilitate accurate billing and reporting processes.
- Assist in resolving discrepancies in financial records and reports promptly.
- Manage project-related contract amendments and change orders effectively.
- Support project close-out procedures, ensuring financial obligations are met.
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting to support organizational goals.
- Continuously identify and implement process improvements for enhanced efficiency.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- 6-10 years of experience in billing coordination or staff accounting roles.
- Proficiency in executing billing functions in professional services firms.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and end-to-end billing workflows.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency in the Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and time management abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- CPA certification or progress towards certification is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
