Overview
- Lead strategic oversight and implementation of patient safety and risk management programs in a healthcare organization.
- Promote a just culture and align critical functions with zero harm goals and regulatory compliance.
- Manage program personnel, fiscal resources, and material assets effectively.
- Support staff development and continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
- Collaborate with all organizational levels, including medical staff, to achieve program objectives.
- Ensure alignment of patient safety strategies with organizational goals and legal requirements.
- Act as a role model for engagement with patients, employees, partners, and the community.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Develop and implement enterprise risk management and patient safety programs.
- Monitor compliance with legal and regulatory standards to mitigate organizational risks.
- Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives and advocate for best practices.
- Manage departmental budgets and allocate resources efficiently.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to program personnel.
- Collaborate with medical staff to enhance patient safety and care quality.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to stakeholders on program outcomes and strategies.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration across departments.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or Juris Doctor preferred.
- Minimum three years of management experience in healthcare settings.
- Five years of experience in healthcare law, risk management, or patient safety.
- Current California Clinical License (RN, PharmD, or related field).
- Preferred certifications: CPPS, CPHQ, CPHRM.
- Proficiency in leadership and management principles and practices.
- Strong oral, written, and presentation skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across organizational levels.
