Job Description

Overview

  • Lead nursing operations at a dynamic healthcare facility, ensuring excellence in patient care and compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to foster a culture of teamwork and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee clinical departments, including Operating Room, Pre-Operative, and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
  • Drive initiatives in infection prevention, quality improvement, and staff development to enhance facility performance.
  • Ensure readiness for accreditation and adherence to all regulatory standards and policies.
  • Provide hands-on leadership and act as a resource for clinical staff in daily operations.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and workflow optimization through active participation in administrative meetings.
  • Engage with diverse patient populations across specialties, including pediatric and adult care.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Provide comprehensive oversight for OR, Pre-Op, and PACU departments, ensuring operational excellence and patient safety.
  • Lead quality improvement and infection control programs to uphold high standards of care.
  • Develop and implement staff education and competency programs to enhance team capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
  • Coordinate scheduling, workflow, and clinical operations to optimize efficiency and communication.
  • Act as a clinical resource and provide support to staff in various departments.
  • Foster collaboration among physicians and clinical teams to achieve shared goals.
  • Participate in leadership meetings to contribute to strategic planning and operational improvements.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution is required.
  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) setting.
  • Strong background in Pre-Operative, PACU, and Circulating roles with leadership experience.
  • Proficiency in infection prevention standards and risk management processes.
  • Experience managing staff and operations in outpatient surgical environments.
  • Preferred experience in multi-specialty ASC settings and accreditation processes.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential.
