Job Description

Overview

  • Lead the Women's Services department, ensuring operational excellence and alignment with organizational goals and nursing philosophy.
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary patient care, emphasizing safety, quality outcomes, and exceptional service delivery.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance service provision and patient care standards.
  • Promote service line growth, quality improvement initiatives, and innovative practices within Women's Services.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies while optimizing resource management.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment to achieve departmental goals.
  • Integrate departmental services into the organization's overall care delivery strategy.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Coordinate department services with hospital functions, focusing on patient safety and quality care.
  • Assess and enhance departmental performance through robust quality control and improvement programs.
  • Provide orientation, in-service training, and continuing education to support staff development.
  • Determine personnel qualifications and competence, ensuring optimal staffing levels and team performance.
  • Participate in community health promotion and educational initiatives to enhance public health awareness.
  • Engage in nursing research and professional practice development to advance departmental expertise.
  • Collaborate on committees, special projects, and performance improvement activities to drive organizational success.
  • Support business development and outreach efforts to expand Women's Services offerings.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in nursing or related field preferred.
  • Active Texas State RN License or compact license; National Specialty Certification required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of recent nursing experience in Women's Services and 5 years in leadership roles.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement effective policies and procedures.
  • Experience with quality control programs and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills to manage departmental operations effectively.
  • Commitment to community health promotion and educational involvement.
  • Proficiency in interdisciplinary patient care coordination and resource management.
