Overview
- Lead the Women's Services department, ensuring operational excellence and alignment with organizational goals and nursing philosophy.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary patient care, emphasizing safety, quality outcomes, and exceptional service delivery.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance service provision and patient care standards.
- Promote service line growth, quality improvement initiatives, and innovative practices within Women's Services.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies while optimizing resource management.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment to achieve departmental goals.
- Integrate departmental services into the organization's overall care delivery strategy.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Coordinate department services with hospital functions, focusing on patient safety and quality care.
- Assess and enhance departmental performance through robust quality control and improvement programs.
- Provide orientation, in-service training, and continuing education to support staff development.
- Determine personnel qualifications and competence, ensuring optimal staffing levels and team performance.
- Participate in community health promotion and educational initiatives to enhance public health awareness.
- Engage in nursing research and professional practice development to advance departmental expertise.
- Collaborate on committees, special projects, and performance improvement activities to drive organizational success.
- Support business development and outreach efforts to expand Women's Services offerings.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in nursing or related field preferred.
- Active Texas State RN License or compact license; National Specialty Certification required.
- Minimum of 10 years of recent nursing experience in Women's Services and 5 years in leadership roles.
- Proven ability to develop and implement effective policies and procedures.
- Experience with quality control programs and performance improvement initiatives.
- Strong communication and organizational skills to manage departmental operations effectively.
- Commitment to community health promotion and educational involvement.
