Overview
- Serve as the first point of contact for patient care, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment.
- Perform a blend of clinical and administrative duties to support healthcare operations effectively.
- Conduct patient assessments, obtain vital signs, and document information in electronic medical records.
- Administer medications and vaccines, perform phlebotomy, and collect diagnostic specimens.
- Maintain examination rooms and sterilize medical equipment to ensure compliance with health standards.
- Collaborate closely with Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers to deliver comprehensive care.
- Work under minimal supervision, adhering to established policies and procedures while exercising discretion.
- Participate in the company’s Tuberculosis screening program as a patient-facing role.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Perform clinical tasks such as obtaining vital signs, administering medications, and conducting diagnostic tests.
- Handle administrative duties including patient scheduling and maintaining accurate medical records.
- Ensure examination rooms are clean and prepared for patient visits.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Provide direct patient care within the scope of active certifications.
- Interpret policies and procedures to complete assignments effectively.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to compliance standards.
- Support operational activities to enhance healthcare delivery efficiency.
Job Requirements
- Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree or equivalent educational background.
- Successful completion of a Medical Assistant training program or certification.
- CPR certification and compliance with Tuberculosis screening requirements.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Medical Assistant role.
- Preferred experience in medication/vaccine administration and phlebotomy.
- Knowledge of Value-Based Care, including HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and patient experience metrics.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly desirable.
- Ability to work on-site Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
