Job Description

Overview

  • Serve as the first point of contact for patient care, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment.
  • Perform a blend of clinical and administrative duties to support healthcare operations effectively.
  • Conduct patient assessments, obtain vital signs, and document information in electronic medical records.
  • Administer medications and vaccines, perform phlebotomy, and collect diagnostic specimens.
  • Maintain examination rooms and sterilize medical equipment to ensure compliance with health standards.
  • Collaborate closely with Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers to deliver comprehensive care.
  • Work under minimal supervision, adhering to established policies and procedures while exercising discretion.
  • Participate in the company’s Tuberculosis screening program as a patient-facing role.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Perform clinical tasks such as obtaining vital signs, administering medications, and conducting diagnostic tests.
  • Handle administrative duties including patient scheduling and maintaining accurate medical records.
  • Ensure examination rooms are clean and prepared for patient visits.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Provide direct patient care within the scope of active certifications.
  • Interpret policies and procedures to complete assignments effectively.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to compliance standards.
  • Support operational activities to enhance healthcare delivery efficiency.

Job Requirements

  • Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree or equivalent educational background.
  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant training program or certification.
  • CPR certification and compliance with Tuberculosis screening requirements.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Medical Assistant role.
  • Preferred experience in medication/vaccine administration and phlebotomy.
  • Knowledge of Value-Based Care, including HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and patient experience metrics.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work on-site Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
