Job Description

Overview

  • Lead accounting operations, including financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, and accounts payable, ensuring compliance with GAAP and tax regulations.
  • Develop and enforce internal controls and accounting policies to safeguard assets and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Provide strategic financial analysis and insights to senior management to support decision-making processes.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Manage compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including GAAP standards and audits.
  • Hire, train, and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with departments to identify cost-saving initiatives and optimize financial operations.
  • Utilize advanced financial systems and tools, including ERP and Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare and oversee accurate financial statements and reports in compliance with GAAP standards.
  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely completion and accuracy.
  • Manage internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Provide financial analysis and strategic insights to senior management for informed decision-making.
  • Oversee accounts payable and general ledger maintenance, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Hire, train, and mentor accounting staff, fostering professional growth and teamwork.
  • Collaborate with departments to identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or MBA strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with 5 years in a management role.
  • Proficiency in GAAP standards, ERP systems, and Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
  • Experience in managing audits and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective accounting policies and internal controls.
  • Proven track record in cost management and financial strategy development.
