Job Description

Overview

  • Lead the Emergency Services department, ensuring exceptional patient care and operational excellence in a dynamic healthcare environment.
  • Assume 24-hour administrative responsibility for emergency nursing services, driving departmental success and compliance.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans, performance improvement initiatives, and regulatory compliance measures.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address nursing challenges and enhance hospital policies.
  • Provide expert triage and treatment to patients across all age groups seeking emergency care.
  • Engage with external agencies, patients, and families to deliver comprehensive and compassionate care.
  • Respond to hospital codes, assess situations, and ensure accurate documentation and follow-up.
  • Supervise and evaluate Emergency Department personnel, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee all functions of Emergency Care Nursing Services, ensuring high-quality patient care delivery.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care processes within the Emergency Department.
  • Develop and execute departmental plans, including performance improvement and compliance initiatives.
  • Supervise and mentor Emergency Department staff, promoting professional growth and effective resource utilization.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among staff, physicians, and administration on nursing matters.
  • Provide expert triage and treatment to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients in emergency situations.
  • Engage with external agencies and patient families to ensure comprehensive care coordination.
  • Respond to hospital codes, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to protocols.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; advanced certifications preferred.
  • Current and valid state Registered Nurse license and BLS certification mandatory.
  • ACLS and PALS certifications required upon hire and maintained throughout tenure.
  • Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred for enhanced qualifications.
  • Minimum of three years of clinical experience in acute care settings essential.
  • Two years of supervisory or management experience in healthcare environments required.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills critical for success.
  • Proficiency in managing emergency codes and ensuring proper documentation necessary.
