Overview

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care in an outpatient clinic setting, ensuring patient health and safety through skilled assessments and interventions.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients of all ages.
  • Educate patients and families on health maintenance strategies, treatments, and self-care practices to promote overall well-being.
  • Perform therapeutic treatments and procedures, including medication administration and respiratory interventions, adhering to clinical standards.
  • Document patient care activities and outcomes accurately, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Act as a resource and advocate for patients, addressing their needs and coordinating referrals to appropriate services.
  • Maintain a safe and organized clinical environment conducive to effective patient care and staff collaboration.
  • Participate in continuing education programs to enhance professional development and clinical competencies.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Conduct systematic assessments of patients' physical, psychosocial, and spiritual health to identify care needs.
  • Triages walk-in patients and provides immediate care or referrals as necessary.
  • Administer medications and perform therapeutic procedures according to established protocols.
  • Educate patients and families on treatments, procedures, and self-care practices to ensure understanding and compliance.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to communicate test results and coordinate follow-up care.
  • Monitor and manage clinical inventory, ensuring availability of necessary supplies and forms.
  • Promote infection control practices and patient safety measures in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Supervise and mentor allied nursing personnel, providing guidance and support as needed.

Job Requirements

  • Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Nursing or equivalent degree required.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse in New York State with current RN registration certificate.
  • Minimum one year of experience in ambulatory, medical-surgical, or emergency room settings preferred.
  • Current certifications in BCLS, Infection Control, and Child Abuse required.
  • Proficiency in venipuncture, medication administration, and immunization techniques.
  • Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills with demonstrated ability to problem-solve using critical thinking.
  • Basic computer skills, including typing and familiarity with healthcare information systems.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish preferred to enhance patient communication and care.
