- Lead and manage specialty pharmacy services ensuring operational excellence and compliance with regulatory standards.

- Recruit, train, and mentor pharmacy staff, fostering a collaborative and patient-focused environment.
- Manage vendor relationships to ensure operational and financial performance aligns with organizational goals.
- Implement inventory controls to optimize medication handling and compliance with storage requirements.
- Provide professional consultation to healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy and patient outcomes.
- Contribute to financial planning, budgeting, and strategic initiatives to support pharmacy service expansion.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Supervise outpatient and specialty pharmacy operations ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements.
- Monitor operational KPIs including turnaround times, adherence rates, and financial metrics.
- Recruit, hire, and evaluate pharmacy staff, providing mentorship and performance feedback.
- Develop strategic relationships with vendors to optimize inventory access and patient support services.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of specialty medications, including controlled substances and cold-chain management.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize specialty medication therapy and patient adherence strategies.
- Assist in developing the pharmacy’s annual budget and identifying opportunities for revenue growth.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and implement quality improvement initiatives.
Job Requirements
- Doctorate in Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited institution.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Tennessee prior to hire.
- Minimum of 2 years of management experience, with specialty pharmacy experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of project management and effective resource management.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to foster collaboration and patient-focused care.
- Experience in compliance with Tennessee Board of Pharmacy and other regulatory standards.
- Proficiency in monitoring operational KPIs and implementing corrective measures.
- Ability to manage vendor relationships and optimize inventory control strategies.
