Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Maintain and update fixed asset accounting records for pipeline and utility subsidiaries.
  • Review and record financial transactions related to fixed assets, including purchases and sales.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to monitor capital projects and assess asset retirement obligations.
  • Prepare regulatory reports and ensure compliance with accounting standards and procedures.
  • Perform account reconciliations and contribute to special accounting projects.
  • Utilize financial applications such as PeopleSoft Financials and Oracle Fusion for accounting tasks.
  • Support budgeting processes and ensure adherence to SOX compliance reporting requirements.
  • Provide analytical support and contribute to the team’s success through effective communication and collaboration.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related business field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in fixed asset accounting.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and financial applications like PeopleSoft Financials or Oracle Fusion.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Preferred certifications include CPA and advanced degrees like MBA or MS in Accounting.
  • Experience with SOX compliance reporting and budgeting processes.
  • Excellent verbal, analytical, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
