Job Description

Overview

  • Serve as an Accountant for a dynamic and growing investment firm, focusing on financial reporting and compliance across diverse entities.
  • Collaborate with external fund administrators to ensure accurate and timely reporting in adherence to GAAP and SEC standards.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, investor notices, and compliance documentation for investment funds and related entities.
  • Support treasury processes, budgeting, and forecasting activities for various financial vehicles.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and tax preparers to ensure compliance and accurate reporting.
  • Mentor and supervise an Accounting Specialist, fostering professional growth and team collaboration.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives, enhancing efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
  • Participate in the development of accounting policies and procedures to align with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare and review financial statements, reconciliations, and expense allocations for investment funds and related entities.
  • Ensure timely and accurate investor reporting, including capital calls, distributions, and notices.
  • Support compliance reporting and SEC documentation processes in collaboration with internal and external teams.
  • Assist in the administration of separately managed accounts, including tax and audit preparation.
  • Coordinate with portfolio reporting teams to deliver accurate and timely information to stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement financial and operational policies to improve workflow efficiency.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Collaborate with investment teams to address inquiries and deliver required reporting promptly.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; CPA eligibility preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, ideally in investment or financial services.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; familiarity with SageIntacct, Bill.com, and Carta is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time and work in a hybrid setting.
