Job Description

Overview

  • Support billing operations for a leading organization, ensuring compliance with industry standards and partner instructions.
  • Prepare and process high volumes of invoices, addressing compliance issues effectively and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, clients, and colleagues to resolve billing-related inquiries and concerns.
  • Handle special projects and respond promptly to internal and external billing requests.
  • Ensure accurate and timely transmission of invoices via e-billing platforms.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive client, matter, and financial information.
  • Adapt to dynamic priorities and work demands in a hybrid work environment.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team supporting high-value client accounts.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Monitor unbilled inventory for assigned matters to ensure timely billing and reporting.
  • Generate billing reports and perform detailed analysis to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Review client guidelines and verify draft invoices for adherence to standards.
  • Process transfers, write-offs, and adjustments as required by billing protocols.
  • Prepare and finalize monthly and transactional bills for attorney review and approval.
  • Collaborate with partners and legal staff to resolve billing issues promptly and effectively.
  • Ensure successful transmission and tracking of invoices via e-billing platforms.
  • Report comprehensively to management on assigned objectives and responsibilities.
  • Assist with special projects and maintain organized billing files and documentation.

Job Requirements

  • Associate of Science degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred in related fields.
  • Minimum of 2 years of billing experience in a professional services firm; 4 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in e-billing platforms and resolving submission issues effectively.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and PivotTables, for data analysis.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in billing operations.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work demands in a hybrid setting.
  • Willingness to work overtime to meet deadlines and manage workload effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with attorneys, clients, and colleagues.
