Job Description

Overview

  • Lead perioperative services, including OR, PACU, and sterile processing, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and regulations.
  • Develop and implement departmental policies, procedures, and training programs to enhance staff performance and patient care quality.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to align department goals with organizational mission and vision.
  • Evaluate and monitor quality of care using established standards to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Manage department budgets, staffing plans, and operational efficiency to meet financial and care delivery objectives.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to staff, fostering professional growth and development.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and accreditation regulations within perioperative services.
  • Participate in infection control surveillance and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Plan, organize, and direct activities within OR, PACU, and sterile processing departments.
  • Evaluate staff performance and develop effective systems for training and orientation.
  • Conduct chart reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance with care standards.
  • Develop and oversee departmental policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other departments to optimize resource utilization and patient care delivery.
  • Monitor and report on departmental activities, concerns, and unusual events to senior leadership.
  • Participate in budget planning and monitor financial performance against objectives.
  • Lead infection control initiatives and communicate findings to staff and stakeholders.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Active Wisconsin Registered Nursing license required.
  • ACLS certification required within two years of hire; BLS certification within one year.
  • Minimum of one year of relevant experience; supervisory experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and clinical decision-making required.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills essential.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication abilities.
