Job Description
Overview
- Lead perioperative services, including OR, PACU, and sterile processing, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and regulations.
- Develop and implement departmental policies, procedures, and training programs to enhance staff performance and patient care quality.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to align department goals with organizational mission and vision.
- Evaluate and monitor quality of care using established standards to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Manage department budgets, staffing plans, and operational efficiency to meet financial and care delivery objectives.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to staff, fostering professional growth and development.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and accreditation regulations within perioperative services.
- Participate in infection control surveillance and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Plan, organize, and direct activities within OR, PACU, and sterile processing departments.
- Evaluate staff performance and develop effective systems for training and orientation.
- Conduct chart reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance with care standards.
- Develop and oversee departmental policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize resource utilization and patient care delivery.
- Monitor and report on departmental activities, concerns, and unusual events to senior leadership.
- Participate in budget planning and monitor financial performance against objectives.
- Lead infection control initiatives and communicate findings to staff and stakeholders.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; advanced degree preferred.
- Active Wisconsin Registered Nursing license required.
- ACLS certification required within two years of hire; BLS certification within one year.
- Minimum of one year of relevant experience; supervisory experience preferred.
- Proficiency in computer systems and clinical decision-making required.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills essential.
