Job Description

Overview

  • Lead and manage surgical services operations, ensuring exceptional patient care and adherence to clinical standards.
  • Develop and implement departmental goals aligned with organizational objectives and healthcare regulations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee staffing activities, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Monitor and manage departmental budgets, ensuring compliance with allocated resources.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and clinical standards within surgical services.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to nursing staff, fostering professional growth and development.
  • Utilize advanced nursing knowledge to address complex patient care scenarios effectively.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Direct and evaluate surgical services operations to achieve quality and performance objectives.
  • Develop and maintain departmental policies, procedures, and standards of care.
  • Coordinate patient care delivery, ensuring optimal outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Manage staffing schedules, ensuring adequate coverage and efficient resource utilization.
  • Prepare and monitor budgets, ensuring financial sustainability and compliance.
  • Oversee internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to healthcare regulations.
  • Implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives within the department.
  • Collaborate with leadership to align departmental goals with organizational mission.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution; MSN preferred.
  • Current Montana RN license or eligibility to obtain licensure.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in surgical services nursing and leadership roles.
  • Advanced certifications: BLS upon hire; PALS and ACLS within six months.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement departmental programs and initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical procedures, disease processes, and pharmacological agents.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to engage and mentor staff.
  • Experience in budget management and compliance with healthcare regulations.
