Job Description
Overview
- Develop, implement, and evaluate treatment plans for students with speech and language needs.
- Provide direct therapy services to students as mandated on their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Collaborate with colleagues during team meetings to ensure cohesive care plans.
- Offer parent training sessions and maintain ongoing communication with families.
- Participate in staff development activities and provide in-service training.
- Complete required documentation and paperwork accurately and promptly.
- Work on-site following the school calendar schedule, Monday to Friday.
- Contribute to a nurturing and vibrant special education preschool environment.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Assess students' speech-language skills to determine therapy needs.
- Provide high-quality speech therapy services as outlined in IEPs.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support student development.
- Communicate effectively with parents to support therapy goals.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of therapy sessions.
- Participate in professional development and training activities.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

Job Requirements
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field.
- New York State Certification as Teacher of Speech and Hearing Handicapped or equivalent.
- Professional license as a Speech-Language Pathologist in New York State.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in speech-language therapy.
- Strong knowledge of IEPs and special education processes.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
