Job Description

Overview

  • Manage payroll operations for approximately 500 employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with labor regulations and union agreements.
  • Administer employee benefits, including garnishments, levies, child support, and 401K deductions.
  • Collaborate with a team to transition payroll systems from Sage Timberline to CMiC Construction Software.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records, including vacation and sick day accumulation and usage.
  • Prepare and pay weekly and quarterly payroll taxes and certified payrolls.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies promptly, ensuring employee satisfaction and compliance.
  • Work on-site Monday through Friday, with flexible hours between 7 AM and 5 PM.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Process payroll for union and non-union employees, ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements.
  • Handle new hire onboarding, including data entry and direct deposit setup.
  • Set up and administer garnishments, levies, child support, and other deductions.
  • Prepare and pay weekly and quarterly payroll taxes accurately and timely.
  • Maintain records of vacation and sick day accumulation and usage.
  • Collaborate with the team to transition payroll systems to CMiC Construction Software.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and address employee concerns effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with labor regulations and union agreements.

Job Requirements

  • Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree or equivalent education required.
  • 3-5 years of payroll experience, including union and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Proficiency in Sage Timberline or CMiC Construction Software preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and payroll tax regulations.
  • Familiarity with the construction industry and local unions is advantageous.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work on-site Monday through Friday in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong communication skills to resolve payroll discrepancies effectively.
