Job Description

Overview

  • Manage payroll operations ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to streamline payroll processes.
  • Oversee payroll system implementation and maintenance for accurate processing.
  • Provide guidance on payroll policies and wage practices to staff.
  • Support HR initiatives including onboarding and training programs.
  • Ensure timely communication of payroll-related information across departments.
  • Monitor adherence to payroll policies and escalate issues as needed.
  • Contribute to organizational initiatives related to compensation and benefits.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Implement and review payroll systems ensuring accurate transaction processing.
  • Process payroll changes including new hires, terminations, and benefit adjustments.
  • Transmit payments to vendors and third parties in compliance with regulations.
  • Develop and deliver training on payroll and organizational policies.
  • Support HRIS administration including job title changes and reporting.
  • Assist with audits and organizational reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to enhance payroll operations.
  • Monitor compliance with wage and hour laws across jurisdictions.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years of direct payroll experience including payroll preparation and submission.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems such as ADP, Workday, or Peoplesoft.
  • Knowledge of wage and hour laws and tax regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information tactfully.
  • Preferred 5+ years in a payroll supervisor or manager role.
  • Experience managing processes in HRIS systems and benefit enrollment.
