Job Description

Overview

  • Lead the Labor and Delivery department to ensure exceptional patient care and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to maintain compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Oversee departmental budgets and resource allocation to achieve financial goals.
  • Promote a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the team.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop and implement policies to ensure high-quality patient care in Labor and Delivery.
  • Monitor and evaluate departmental performance metrics and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
  • Manage staffing levels and schedules to meet patient care demands effectively.
  • Provide guidance and support during emergency or crisis situations.
  • Facilitate training programs to enhance staff competency and knowledge.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license and CPR certification mandatory.
  • Minimum of 5 years of RN experience in Labor and Delivery.
  • At least 2 years of progressive management experience in a hospital setting.
  • Strong knowledge of state, federal, and Joint Commission requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage departmental budgets and achieve financial goals.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills to inspire and guide teams.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally and work on-site as required.
