Job Description

Overview

  • Contribute to financial reporting and technical accounting in a dynamic energy company.
  • Prepare SEC filings, disclosures, and statutory financial statements.
  • Research and document technical accounting positions and new transactions.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and internal teams for compliance.
  • Support monthly close processes and cross-functional reporting projects.
  • Implement new accounting standards and policies across the organization.
  • Enhance SOX compliance and financial reporting processes.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare quarterly and annual SEC reporting documents and disclosures.
  • Draft and review accounting policies and implement new standards.
  • Research technical accounting matters and prepare detailed memorandums.
  • Collaborate with auditors and provide necessary support documentation.
  • Assist with statutory reporting and reconcile GAAP differences.
  • Support monthly close processes and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Contribute to process improvements and maintain SOX compliance.
  • Participate in internal and external ad hoc reporting projects.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting; CPA certification required.
  • Minimum of 4 years accounting experience, preferably in a Big 4 firm.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency in lease accounting and revenue recognition principles.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to research and articulate technical accounting matters effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Hands-on approach with a focus on delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
