Overview

  • Lead the Burn ICU department in a Level I Trauma Center, ensuring high-quality patient care and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with hospital systems to achieve cost-effective and efficient healthcare delivery.
  • Oversee staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation for optimal department performance.
  • Implement and uphold nursing best practices aligned with organizational values and goals.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to nursing staff, fostering professional growth.
  • Act as a clinical resource expert in neuro critical care and burn unit management.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and certifications required for the department.
  • Promote a collaborative and inclusive work environment within the healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage daily operations of the Burn ICU, ensuring patient care excellence and adherence to protocols.
  • Develop and maintain staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage and resource availability.
  • Conduct hiring, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions for nursing staff.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Monitor and manage departmental budgets, optimizing resource utilization.
  • Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and standards within the unit.
  • Lead initiatives to improve patient experience and operational efficiency.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing management experience; 5 years preferred.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas.
  • CPR certification and other department-specific certifications required.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to foster a collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency in managing budgets and optimizing healthcare resources.
  • Ability to act as a clinical resource and mentor for nursing staff.
