Overview

  • Drive strategic legal recruitment initiatives for a leading law firm, focusing on law students and entry-level talent acquisition.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align recruitment strategies with organizational goals and diversity objectives.
  • Manage comprehensive onboarding and integration programs to ensure seamless transitions for new hires and summer associates.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with law schools to enhance recruitment pipelines and brand presence.
  • Design and execute engaging summer associate programs, including training, events, and performance evaluations.
  • Provide expertise in legal recruiting practices, ensuring compliance with industry standards and organizational excellence.
  • Supervise and mentor recruiting department staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Prepare and manage recruiting budgets, optimizing resource allocation for maximum impact.
  • Contribute to the firm's marketing and diversity initiatives through strategic recruiting efforts.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Lead law student recruitment processes, including on-campus interviews and in-office programs.
  • Coordinate the production of recruiting materials and maintain competitive market data.
  • Plan and execute law school recruiting events, receptions, and sponsorship initiatives.
  • Collaborate with professional development teams to align mentoring programs with recruitment goals.
  • Ensure thorough candidate due diligence and maintain accurate applicant tracking systems.
  • Supervise department staff, ensuring effective team management and professional growth.
  • Prepare detailed reports and surveys to evaluate recruiting activities and outcomes.
  • Coordinate attorney departure processes and support local office initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with industry standards and adapt strategies to evolving recruitment trends.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required, with advanced degrees preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in legal recruiting, with supervisory responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in legal recruiting practices and familiarity with attorney development standards.
  • Strong managerial skills with a proven ability to lead and develop teams effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of NALP standards and proficiency in tools such as VI Desktop, MS Word, and MS Excel.
  • Flexibility to work onsite 3-4 days a week, with occasional extended hours.
  • Willingness to travel as required for recruitment activities and events.
