Overview
- Provide global medical and scientific leadership for virology assets, ensuring alignment with therapeutic area strategies.
- Develop and maintain scientific narratives, platforms, and positioning for assigned assets.
- Lead global dissemination activities, including publications, congress strategies, and scientific content creation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure global launch readiness and effective enablement of regional teams.
- Provide medical leadership in evidence generation and lifecycle management activities.
- Engage with external scientific communities, including KOLs, advisory groups, and advocacy organizations.
- Contribute to building global Medical Affairs capabilities and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Support portfolio-level prioritization and cross-asset decision-making processes.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Develop and execute medical strategies for assigned virology assets in alignment with global objectives.
- Manage asset-level Medical Affairs budgets, ensuring compliance and tracking.
- Lead scientific dissemination activities, including publications and congress strategies.
- Provide medical input into clinical development programs and regulatory activities.
- Engage with external scientific communities and oversee investigator-initiated research projects.
- Ensure global launch readiness and effective enablement of regional Medical Affairs teams.
- Contribute to the development of global Medical Affairs capabilities and compliance standards.
- Support cross-functional collaboration and influence decision-making in matrixed environments.
Job Requirements
- Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in biological sciences or equivalent advanced degree.
- Minimum 12 years of experience in Medical Affairs within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Proven expertise in virology, including COVID-19 and/or vaccines.
- Experience in strategizing and overseeing scientific publications and communications.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills for effective communication across organizational levels.
- Ability to adapt to different therapeutic areas as required.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%.
- Office presence required at least 2-3 days per week in a hybrid work arrangement.
