Overview
- Lead fund accounting operations for private equity strategies, ensuring compliance with financial reporting standards and controls.
- Supervise accounting managers handling closed-end funds and separate accounts.
- Oversee monthly portfolio closing processes, including pricing, reconciliations, and expense accruals.
- Review quarterly and annual financial statements prepared under U.S. GAAP.
- Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and financial reporting controls.
- Research technical guidance and implement new accounting pronouncements.
- Review fund and client-specific performance calculations and consolidated fund information.
- Assist in preparing ad-hoc requests from Client Services and the Investment Team.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Supervise and mentor accounting managers, ensuring accurate and timely fund accounting operations.
- Manage monthly portfolio closing processes, including pricing and reconciliation tasks.
- Review and approve financial statements in compliance with U.S. GAAP standards.
- Ensure adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley financial reporting controls and documentation requirements.
- Conduct research on technical accounting guidance and implement new standards.
- Analyze fund and client-specific performance metrics and consolidated fund data.
- Collaborate with Client Services and Investment Team on ad-hoc reporting needs.
- Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes and reporting accuracy.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in fund accounting or financial management.
- Preferred 14 years of experience in private equity or investment fund accounting.
- Proficiency in U.S. GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance standards.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Experience with financial statement preparation and performance analysis.
- Ability to research and apply technical accounting guidance effectively.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in hybrid work environments.
