Job Description

Overview

  • Lead operations within a high-acuity cardiovascular, thoracic, and transplant inpatient unit.
  • Oversee a specialized 45-bed telemetry/step-down unit serving diverse patient populations.
  • Drive strategic initiatives to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care delivery.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance operational efficiency and teamwork.
  • Provide leadership in patient flow, admissions, and discharge processes.
  • Promote patient education regarding lifestyle changes, medications, and recovery.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational standards.
  • Support staff engagement and accountability within a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Provide strategic leadership for a telemetry/step-down cardiovascular unit.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including pharmacy, dietary, and therapy services.
  • Oversee patient care for conditions such as CHF, pulmonary hypertension, and myocardial infarction.
  • Drive initiatives for patient and family education on recovery and lifestyle adjustments.
  • Manage staff scheduling, engagement, and accountability within the unit.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational standards and healthcare regulations.
  • Promote teamwork and collaboration across all disciplines.
  • Lead efforts to optimize patient flow and discharge processes.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in a cardiovascular or thoracic unit.
  • Proficiency in telemetry and step-down care operations.
  • Strong knowledge of patient care for cardiovascular and transplant populations.
  • COVID-19 vaccination and booster required; exemptions considered.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to manage fast-paced environments and ensure patient-centered care.
