Overview
- Lead operations within a high-acuity cardiovascular, thoracic, and transplant inpatient unit.
- Oversee a specialized 45-bed telemetry/step-down unit serving diverse patient populations.
- Drive strategic initiatives to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care delivery.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance operational efficiency and teamwork.
- Provide leadership in patient flow, admissions, and discharge processes.
- Promote patient education regarding lifestyle changes, medications, and recovery.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational standards.
- Support staff engagement and accountability within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Provide strategic leadership for a telemetry/step-down cardiovascular unit.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including pharmacy, dietary, and therapy services.
- Oversee patient care for conditions such as CHF, pulmonary hypertension, and myocardial infarction.
- Drive initiatives for patient and family education on recovery and lifestyle adjustments.
- Manage staff scheduling, engagement, and accountability within the unit.
- Ensure compliance with organizational standards and healthcare regulations.
- Promote teamwork and collaboration across all disciplines.
- Lead efforts to optimize patient flow and discharge processes.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in a cardiovascular or thoracic unit.
- Proficiency in telemetry and step-down care operations.
- Strong knowledge of patient care for cardiovascular and transplant populations.
- COVID-19 vaccination and booster required; exemptions considered.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with interdisciplinary teams.
