Overview
- Manage financial transactions and reporting for a portfolio of properties, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Perform monthly close processes, preparing both internal and external financial statements for distribution.
- Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring proper documentation and record-keeping.
- Oversee daily banking transactions, updating records as necessary for accuracy.
- Handle mortgage escrow and reserve account activities, including analysis and recording.
- Support external financial audits by preparing relevant documentation and responding to inquiries.
- Collaborate on ad-hoc projects to improve financial processes and reporting efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies in all accounting practices.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Perform month-end close processes, including preparation of financial statements and reconciliations.
- Review and update banking transactions, ensuring accuracy and timely record-keeping.
- Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts for assigned properties.
- Record monthly wires, debt service payments, and other financial transactions.
- Manage mortgage escrow and reserve account activities, ensuring proper documentation.
- Perform bank reconciliations, including tenant security bank accounts.
- Assist with annual external financial audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects to enhance financial reporting and operational efficiency.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in an accounting role; 5 years preferred.
- Proficiency in Yardi software is mandatory for this position.
- Experience with tax credit residential properties is advantageous.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are essential.
- Ability to work on-site and collaborate effectively with team members.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
