Overview

- Handle specimen labeling, centrifuging, and storage accurately.
- Follow physician orders and laboratory protocols meticulously.

- Support laboratory operations with administrative tasks as needed.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Perform venipuncture and other specimen collection techniques.
- Label, centrifuge, and store specimens per protocol requirements.
- Ensure accurate matching of requisition forms to specimen tubes.
- Package specimens for transport while maintaining integrity.
- Comply with safety regulations and wear appropriate PPE.
- Update patient information and handle inquiries professionally.
- Understand and follow physician orders for laboratory tests.
- Participate in department training sessions annually.
- Assist with maintaining laboratory equipment and cleanliness.
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in phlebotomy; 2 years preferred.
- Proficiency in specimen collection and preparation techniques.
- Bilingual Spanish skills and pediatric experience required.
- Ability to float to multiple locations as needed.
- Knowledge of OSHA and DEP regulations for laboratory safety.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills for patient interaction.
- Ability to work on-site in a fast-paced environment.
