Job Description

Overview

  • Support the accounting team in managing financial transactions and records for a construction-focused organization.
  • Assist in processing invoices and allocating general conditions items to projects using Sage Intacct software.
  • Contribute to insurance compliance and tracking, ensuring Certificates of Insurance are updated and renewals are obtained.
  • Gain hands-on experience in construction accounting and develop skills in project budgets and cost management.
  • Work closely with a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Process and enter invoices into accounting software, ensuring accuracy and timely allocation to projects.
  • Assist in tracking and maintaining insurance compliance, including updating Certificates of Insurance.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors to obtain renewals and ensure compliance with insurance requirements.
  • Support the accounting team in managing general conditions items and allocating them to appropriate projects.
  • Contribute to the preparation of financial reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Utilize Excel for data analysis and reporting, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial operations.
  • Participate in training sessions to develop skills in project budgets and cost-related accounting tasks.
  • Work effectively in a dynamic environment, adapting to changing priorities and deadlines.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in Sage Intacct or similar accounting software is highly desirable.
  • Strong Excel skills for data analysis and financial reporting.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
