Overview

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Lead estimating efforts for commercial construction projects, including ground-up and renovation initiatives, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Prepare detailed conceptual and hard-bid estimates using advanced software tools and methodologies.
  • Analyze construction documents, specifications, and materials to develop precise cost projections.
  • Develop and maintain subcontractor and vendor relationships, ensuring competitive pricing and reliable partnerships.
  • Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor bids to maintain quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with project management and field teams during preconstruction and project turnover phases.
  • Participate in client meetings, presenting estimates and contributing to strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Mentor junior estimators and preconstruction staff, fostering skill development and team growth.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in commercial construction estimating; 10 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in conceptual estimating and hard bids across diverse construction sectors.
  • Strong skills in advanced estimating software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to accurately interpret construction documents and specifications.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills to collaborate effectively with teams and clients.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED required as a minimum educational qualification.
