Overview

  • Provide specialized speech-language pathology services for adult and acute care patients in a dynamic healthcare setting.
  • Conduct evaluations and develop personalized therapy plans to address communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care and optimal outcomes.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' speech, language, voice, and swallowing abilities.
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on patient goals and clinical findings.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients and caregivers regarding therapy techniques and prognosis.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and therapy outcomes.
  • Stay updated on advancements in speech-language pathology practices and integrate them into patient care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient satisfaction.
  • Provide mentorship and training to new team members and students.

Job Requirements

  • Master's degree in Speech Pathology or Communication Disorders is required.
  • Current certification with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies to practice Speech Pathology.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
  • Preferred minimum of 1 year of experience in speech-language pathology.
  • Strong knowledge of adult and acute care speech-language therapy practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient and team interactions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
