Job Description

Overview

  • Provide essential clinical and administrative support to ensure seamless patient care and healthcare operations.
  • Serve as a key liaison between patients and healthcare providers, fostering a welcoming and professional environment.
  • Perform patient assessments, obtain vital signs, and accurately document information in electronic medical records.
  • Administer medications and vaccines, perform phlebotomy, and collect diagnostic specimens with precision.
  • Ensure examination rooms are prepared and medical equipment is sterilized to meet health and safety standards.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians and advanced practice providers to deliver exceptional patient care.
  • Adhere to established policies and procedures while exercising professional discretion and judgment.
  • Participate in health screening programs and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Perform clinical tasks such as obtaining vital signs, administering medications, and conducting diagnostic tests.
  • Handle administrative duties including patient scheduling and maintaining accurate medical records.
  • Ensure examination rooms are clean, organized, and fully prepared for patient visits.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to deliver high-quality and efficient patient care.
  • Provide direct patient care within the scope of active certifications and training.
  • Interpret and apply policies and procedures to complete assignments effectively and accurately.
  • Participate in compliance and quality improvement initiatives to enhance healthcare delivery standards.
  • Support operational activities to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare services.

Job Requirements

  • Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree or equivalent educational background required.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant training program or certification is mandatory.
  • CPR certification and compliance with Tuberculosis screening requirements are essential.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Medical Assistant role required.
  • Preferred experience in medication/vaccine administration and phlebotomy procedures.
  • Knowledge of Value-Based Care, including HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and patient experience metrics, is advantageous.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly desirable for this role.
  • Ability to work on-site Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, is required.
