Overview
- Provide essential clinical and administrative support to ensure seamless patient care and healthcare operations.
- Serve as a key liaison between patients and healthcare providers, fostering a welcoming and professional environment.
- Perform patient assessments, obtain vital signs, and accurately document information in electronic medical records.
- Administer medications and vaccines, perform phlebotomy, and collect diagnostic specimens with precision.
- Ensure examination rooms are prepared and medical equipment is sterilized to meet health and safety standards.
- Collaborate closely with physicians and advanced practice providers to deliver exceptional patient care.
- Adhere to established policies and procedures while exercising professional discretion and judgment.
- Participate in health screening programs and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Perform clinical tasks such as obtaining vital signs, administering medications, and conducting diagnostic tests.
- Handle administrative duties including patient scheduling and maintaining accurate medical records.
- Ensure examination rooms are clean, organized, and fully prepared for patient visits.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to deliver high-quality and efficient patient care.
- Provide direct patient care within the scope of active certifications and training.
- Interpret and apply policies and procedures to complete assignments effectively and accurately.
- Participate in compliance and quality improvement initiatives to enhance healthcare delivery standards.
- Support operational activities to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare services.
Job Requirements
- Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree or equivalent educational background required.
- Completion of a Medical Assistant training program or certification is mandatory.
- CPR certification and compliance with Tuberculosis screening requirements are essential.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Medical Assistant role required.
- Preferred experience in medication/vaccine administration and phlebotomy procedures.
- Knowledge of Value-Based Care, including HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and patient experience metrics, is advantageous.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly desirable for this role.
- Ability to work on-site Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, is required.
