Overview
- Support litigation team in handling complex commercial disputes, including case management, discovery, and trial preparation.
- Collaborate with attorneys and team members to ensure efficient case progression and adherence to deadlines.
- Engage in factual research and document review using advanced e-discovery tools and platforms.
- Coordinate deposition logistics, including scheduling and preparation of materials and exhibits.
- Provide courtroom support during trials, managing exhibits and assisting with real-time updates.
- Assist in post-trial activities, including organizing trial records and preparing appellate materials.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while handling sensitive information and supporting high-pressure trial settings.
- Contribute to a collaborative and inclusive work environment, fostering innovation and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Manage case files, timelines, and discovery logs, ensuring accuracy and organization.
- Coordinate document collection and review processes, including quality control within e-discovery platforms.
- Prepare deposition outlines, witness materials, and exhibit sets for effective litigation support.
- Support attorneys in drafting and formatting factual sections of case documents.
- Assist with trial logistics, including war room setup and technology coordination.
- Collaborate with external vendors for trial graphics, court reporting, and technology support.
- Organize and archive trial records and exhibits for post-trial and appellate proceedings.
- Coordinate meetings and case-related events, tracking agendas and follow-up items.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and/or completion of an accredited paralegal program required.
- Minimum of five years of litigation paralegal experience, with trial experience preferred.
- Proficiency in e-discovery tools (e.g., Relativity, DISCO) and trial presentation software.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a high-volume environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Familiarity with litigation procedures and court rules in New York and federal courts.
- Flexibility to work overtime and travel as required for trials and hearings.
- Experience in complex commercial litigation, arbitration, and regulatory investigations.
