Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Oversee tax engagements from planning to delivery, ensuring quality and timeliness.
- Prepare and review complex tax returns, extensions, and planning calculations.
- Conduct tax research and draft memorandums outlining findings and conclusions.
- Communicate with IRS and state agencies regarding audits and inquiries.
- Delegate projects effectively and provide assistance to staff as needed.
- Engage in business development activities, including client meetings and proposals.
- Assist with employee training and provide career guidance.
- Report to tax department partners and contribute to departmental goals.
- Lead consulting projects and special assignments for management and clients.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting required.
- CPA certification or EA designation is mandatory.
- Minimum of 5 years of public accounting experience; 9 years preferred.
- Expertise in individual, corporate, and partnership taxation.
- Experience with multi-state and international tax filings.
- Proficiency in tax software and workflow optimization tools.
- Strong communication skills for client and team interactions.
- Ability to mentor and train junior staff effectively.
- Located in NY/NJ area preferred; remote candidates considered.
