Job Description

Overview

  • Support strategic business development initiatives for flagship practices in a dynamic professional services environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive marketing and client targeting activities.
  • Develop and maintain marketing materials showcasing practice group capabilities and achievements.
  • Identify visibility opportunities such as conference sponsorships, speaking engagements, and thought leadership campaigns.
  • Assist attorneys with strategic business development plans and execution.
  • Conduct market research and compile competitive intelligence to inform strategic approaches.
  • Manage directories submission processes and award submissions for relevant practice areas.
  • Maintain reporting systems tracking proposals and pitches for evaluation and improvement.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Lead business development activities for assigned practices, ensuring high-quality deliverables and timely execution.
  • Develop core messaging and brand positioning for practice areas, including value propositions.
  • Prepare new business proposals, pitch materials, and responses to RFIs/RFPs.
  • Collaborate with attorneys to strategize and execute client targeting initiatives.
  • Conduct market and industry research to support business development strategies.
  • Manage the directories submission process and award applications for practice groups.
  • Maintain databases and reporting systems for tracking proposals and pitches.
  • Coordinate follow-up activities post-pitch to ensure client satisfaction and continuous improvement.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or liberal arts required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in business development within professional services; 6 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and marketing-related databases.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate strategic approaches effectively.
  • Experience conducting market research and compiling competitive intelligence.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of the private capital industry and professional services marketing.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and inspire enthusiasm within teams.
