Overview

  • Lead the trauma program at a Level II Trauma Center, ensuring excellence in patient care and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance trauma care delivery and improve clinical outcomes.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for trauma services, aligning with organizational goals.
  • Oversee trauma program operations, including quality improvement initiatives and compliance with verification standards.
  • Coordinate efforts between local and regional trauma systems to optimize patient care.
  • Promote research and innovation in trauma and acute care through education and clinical studies.
  • Manage trauma registry processes to support performance improvement and research activities.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to trauma program staff, fostering professional growth and development.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop processes for monitoring and improving financial performance and resource utilization within the trauma program.
  • Coordinate optimal care for trauma patients across the continuum of care.
  • Monitor clinical processes and outcomes to ensure quality care delivery.
  • Design and manage the trauma registry to facilitate research and performance improvement activities.
  • Conduct audits and case reviews to identify trends and events for quality improvement.
  • Lead efforts for verification and re-verification processes for the Trauma Center.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, emergency department staff, and trauma nurses to ensure seamless operations.
  • Handle patient complaints and provide resolutions to enhance patient satisfaction.

Job Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing or related field required.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Minimum of 3 years of acute care trauma leadership experience; 5 years preferred.
  • Expertise in clinical research and innovation in trauma care.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proven ability to manage trauma program operations and staff effectively.
  • Experience in strategic planning and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of trauma registry design and performance improvement processes.
